How We Can Help
Most business owners went into their endeavors for one reason – they had a passion for that particular business. Where that passion came from really doesn’t matter. It’s the passion that counts. But knowing how to do the business and knowing the business of the business are two different things.
The fact is that many business owners are working really hard “in” the business, often attempting to do some things they really don’t do very well. Rather, they should be working “on” their business and doing the things at which they are an expert.
The latest statistics from the Small Business Administration (SBA) emphasize the point showing that poor management as the number one reason for failure, especially for new businesses whose owners often lack relevant expertise in areas such as finance, purchasing, selling, production and hiring and managing employees.
When I formed Minter Consulting, I had a dream of building a company that would help other organizations identify and achieve their dreams.

Of course, many businesses fail simply for lack of planning. Every business needs a business plan, not only so that they can apply for loans or grants, but also because it is the roadmap to the future. It needs to be based on current and accurate information, yet it calls for reasonably educated projections for the future.
Before any football game, I remember that all of my coaches, from high school to the pros, spent a good deal of time developing their game plan. Essentially, it was a prediction of each step we would take in order to win the game. My team of coaches are experts at helping businesses of any size develop and implement their game plans.

Another common and often fatal flaw is for a business to have insufficient operating funds or cash flow. Underestimating how much money is needed for survival is a critical mistake. This is especially true when a business meets with a certain amount of success and expands beyond their capability to sustain themselves.
Our team is fully aware that most business owners are looking for immediate success. They also realize that success needs to be nurtured and grown over time. We will provide that objective guidance that places the right systems and the right people in place so that continuous growth is properly paced and sustainable for the long haul.
